Stevi Auble started her cake career in 2010 with the inception of her San Diego based business, Hey there, Cupcake! She is a self taught artist that focused heavily on the use of wafer paper, a mostly unused medium at the time in the cake industry. Over the past years she has worked on innovating techniques and methods to transform the unassuming thin sheets into lifelike flowers and unique finishes and has brought the medium into full light as a common product currently used in sugar art worldwide. Aside from wafer paper art innovation she is known for her modern aesthetic and substantial use of negative space and interesting color combinations within her cake designs. She is a world renowned, award winning artist, an international masterclass instructor, an NBC Bluprint instructor and the author of the first wafer paper informative book, Wafer Paper Cakes, which was released in 2017 and continues to accumulate rave reviews and is a top seller within the industry.
