Here is a tutorial on how to make your own stamen for your sugar flowers! As you may have noticed, flower stamen can be on the pricey side! I’d been scratching my head on how to create stamen cost effectively for a while. I also didn’t want to spend TOO much time on making them, cause then, well that defeats the purpose. I had the epiphany while walking through the aisles in a craft store to use a fabric stiffener on thread to make it more rigid (instead of using thin paper covered wire, which can really add up $). Here is a process that I came up with that isn’t too time consuming and also very inexpensive! It also allows you to customize and add an attention to detail that you may not get with store bought stamen.

Note: You want to start this process at least 24 before you need the stamen for thread drying time.
